This Mongolian Chicken features crispy slices of chicken breast stir-fried in a delectable sweet and savory sauce. It's a popular restaurant dish that tastes even better when you make it yourself at home!

While I've always been a huge fan of Mongolian beef, I have to admit that I might like this easy Mongolian chicken even more. The chicken gets perfectly crispy around the edges, and the sauce has an ideal balance of flavors.

I recently decided to order Mongolian chicken at my local Chinese restaurant instead of my usual Mongolian beef, and I immediately became hooked. I knew right then that I needed to learn how to make this dish at home, and it has been on regular rotation in our kitchen ever since.

How to Make Mongolian Chicken

This recipe begins with thin slices of chicken breast. A helpful tip is to partially freeze your chicken breasts first, as this makes them much easier to slice thinly. While you can certainly cube the chicken, I find that long, thin slices are superior because they provide more surface area for the delicious sauce to cling to. The chicken is coated in cornstarch and then stir-fried until it becomes wonderfully crispy.
