Buzelis Erupts for 27 as Unbeaten Bulls Roll Past Kings, Move to 4-0

The good times keep rolling in the Windy City.

The Chicago Bulls, the league’s last remaining undefeated team, put on an offensive clinic Wednesday night, overpowering the Sacramento Kings 126-113 to push their perfect record to a stunning 4-0. This marks the franchise's best start since the 2021-22 season, and the energy in the United Center was electric.

While it was a night of team triumph, all eyes were on rookie sensation Matas Buzelis, who exploded for a career-high 27 points. The young star was everywhere, showcasing the scoring prowess that has Bulls fans dreaming big.

Triple-Double Threat Fuels the Engine

While Buzelis provided the scoring fireworks, the engine of the Bulls' offense was Josh Giddey. The dynamic guard was a maestro on the court, flirting with a triple-double and stuffing the stat sheet with 20 points, 12 assists, and 8 rebounds. His connection with big man Nikola Vucevic was particularly potent; Vooch dominated the paint with a sturdy 13 points, 14 rebounds, and 7 assists of his own.

The unselfish, free-flowing offense was a thing of beauty. The Bulls shot a blistering 53.8% from the field as a team, with Kevin Huerter also catching fire from deep to add 18 points.

A Third-Quarter Blitz Seals the Deal

The game was tightly contested through the first half, with the Kings holding a slim 64-62 lead at the break. But then came the third quarter.

The Bulls came out of the locker room with a different level of intensity, unleashing a devastating 39-27 period. They were simply unstoppable, shooting 65.4% from the field and dishing out 14 assists as a team, with Giddey accounting for five of them. By the time the quarter ended, the Bulls had built a commanding 101-91 lead that they would only extend in the fourth, pushing the advantage to 17 points.

A Warm Welcome for Familiar Faces

The night was also marked by a touching homecoming for former Bull Zach LaVine. In his first game back in Chicago since being traded last season, LaVine received a warm video tribute during the first quarter—and then promptly reminded everyone of his scoring ability, leading all scorers with a game-high 30 points.

Another former Bull, DeMar DeRozan, added 19 points for the Kings, but it wasn't enough to stop Sacramento from dropping their third straight game. Despite Domantas Sabonis' strong all-around effort (18 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists), the Kings' shooting went cold, connecting on just 7 of 28 from beyond the arc.

On the Horizon

The 4-0 start has officially announced the Bulls as a force to be reckoned with early this season. The combination of veteran leadership, unselfish play, and explosive young talent is creating a special vibe in Chicago.

The Bulls will look to keep their perfect record intact in their next outing. Can they make it 5-0? Stay tuned.
